Exploring Christogenesis

Welcome to my blog.

Welcome to my blog. I am Winifred, a sister, formed in the French school of Spirituality. In recent years I have been exploring Christogenesis – Christ at work in the evolving universe – a subtle change from the 17th century spirituality centered on an interior relationship with God, nurtured through prayer, devotion, and discipline, with an emphasis on reparation for sin and preparation for death. It developed within a society shaped by hierarchy, monarchy, patriarchy, and a worldview that saw the social and comic order as largely fixed and ordained by God.

This site offers reflections into Christogenesis by which I mean, the ongoing process by which Christ comes to fuller expression in humanity, and the whole of creation, drawing all things towards their fulfillment in God These insights shape everyday faith – prayer, relationships, hope, struggle, and wonder. I hope this blog becomes a quiet, welcoming space where you can notice how God is moving in your own life.

Exploring Christogenesis

I use this space to share my reflections and learnings on Christogenesis. If you’re wondering what Christogenesis is, it is a term coined by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to describe the dynamic presence of God in evolution: “the creative entanglement of divine and created life in the movement toward wholeness and fulfillment.”
